Custom Wood Profiles for Architects & Designers

Need V-groove paneling, tongue-and-groove boards, or something more custom? We mill all of it right here at our sawmill in Panguitch — and we’re happy to send you a sample before you commit to anything. Paneling always looks a little different in person than it does on a spec sheet, so we’d rather you see and feel it first.

We work in four species — Douglas Fir, Ponderosa Pine, Spruce, and White Fir — and they each bring something different to a project. Douglas Fir has a tighter grain and a warmer tone that tends to work well in commercial spaces. Ponderosa Pine leans more rustic. Since we mill everything to order instead of pulling from a warehouse, we can hold tighter tolerances than you’d typically get off the shelf, and if your spec calls for something we don’t carry as a standard profile, just tell us what you need — we can usually mill it.

One thing we hear a lot from architects: it’s nice to actually talk to the people running the saw instead of going through three layers of a distributor. If you’ve got a spec sheet or even just a rough idea of the profile you’re after, send it over and we’ll tell you honestly what’s doable, what it’ll cost, and how long it’ll take.

Why architects specify us

You get to ask your spec questions straight to the people running the saw, not a distributor who’s three steps removed from the mill. And because every board is graded to the same standard, a big order arriving in three deliveries still looks and feels consistent from the first piece to the last — which matters more than you’d think, since paneling always reads a little differently in your hand than it does on a spec sheet. What we mill for you

If you’re specifying V-groove paneling, tongue-and-groove boards, or something more custom, it all comes off the same mill in Panguitch, Utah. We work in Douglas Fir, Ponderosa Pine, Spruce, and White Fir, so whatever look you’re going for, there’s a species that fits. And since we’re a Utah sawmill milling to order rather than pulling from a warehouse, you’re not stuck choosing from whatever’s sitting on a shelf.

Most Common Asked Questions

What profiles are available — V-groove, tongue and groove, custom?

All three: V-groove paneling, tongue-and-groove boards, and custom-milled profiles to your specification.

Can custom profiles be milled to a designer's specifications?

Yes, that’s what our custom saw milling is for — we build to your specification rather than asking you to fit ours.

What species work best for interior paneling?

Douglas Fir, Ponderosa Pine, Spruce, and White Fir all work well — it really comes down to the grain and tone you’re after.
